Placing a Hold

Lambton College employees and students are able to place holds on items online using Page 1+ and at the circulation desk. Step by step instructions can be found in the following document.

Some items, such as books on reserve or most equipment, cannot have a hold placed on them. Students and Faculty in Ottawa are not eligible to borrow these items.

Returning Items

Books

The library will provide you with a prepaid shipping label once you are ready to return the item. Email loans@lambtoncollege.ca no later than three days before the item's due date to request the label. See the instructions below if you would like to try to renew the item.

Once you have the shipping label, return the item to the library via mail on or before your due date. You may choose to reuse the packaging it arrived in or find new packaging.

Laptops

Return the laptop to Lambton's I.T. Service (Room G387) before 5:45 pm. Please DO NOT mail these laptops to Sarnia campus.

Renewals

The library offers one renewal on Books in the General Collection if there are no active requests for the item. Students and Faculty can sign into your account on Page 1+ and follow the attached steps to renew.

If the item is not eligible for renewal, please return the item by mail to the Sarnia Campus library.

Overdue & Lost Items

The library staff will send an overdue notice via Lambton College email or by phone (community users). Any account with an overdue item or fine on it will not be able to borrow any additional items until the situation is resolved and any fines or fees are paid.

If the item is returned late, accumulated fines must be paid. Fines will be calculated based on the table above.

If the item is not returned within 30 days of the due date for any reason, a bill for replacement costs and accumulated fines will be sent out. For more expensive items (including but not limited to laptops), students won't be able to register for classes, receive transcripts or grades or apply to graduate until the bill is paid. This is in addition to not being able to borrow new items.
